What special precautions should I follow?
Your doctor will watch your liver function carefully while you are taking Diflucan.
If your immunity is low and you develop a rash, your doctor should monitor your condition closely. You may
have to stop taking Diflucan if the rash gets worse.

Overdose
Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical treatment immediately.
Symptoms of Diflucan overdose may include:

It is important that your doctor check your progress at regular visits. This will allow your doctor to check for any unwanted effects.
If your symptoms do not improve within a few weeks (or m
onths for some infections), or if they become worse, check with your doctor.
These medicines should notbe taken with astemizole (e.g., Hismanal), cisapride (e.g., Propulsid),dofetilide (e.g.,
Tikosyn) or terfenadine (e.g., Seldane). Doing so may increase the risk of serious side effects affecting the heart.

Side Effects
For women taking a single dose to treat vaginal infection, the most common side effects are abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, and nausea; changes in taste, dizziness, and indigestion may occur less
often.
Less common side effects may include:

How to Use
Fluconazole comes as a tablet and liquid to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any
part you do not understand. Take fluconazole exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
Shake the liquid well before each use to
mix the medication evenly.
Continue to take fluconazole even if you feel well. Do not stop taking fluconazole without talking to your doctor.
