Cautions
Keep all appointments with your doctor. Your symptoms may improve after just a few days. If they do not improve within 3 weeks, call your doctor.
Avoid exposure to chicken pox and measles. Th
is drug makes you more susceptible to these illnesses. If you are exposed to them while using triamcinolone, call your doctor. Do not have a vaccination or other immunization unless your doctor tells
you that you may.
Report any injuries or signs of infection (fever, sore throat, pain during urination, and muscle aches) that occur during treatment.
If your sputum (the matter that
you cough up during an asthma attack) thickens or changes color from clear white to yellow, green, or gray, call your doctor

Precautions Before Using This Medicine
Pregnancy¡XIn one human study, use of beclomethasone oral inhalation by pregnant women did not cause birth defects or other problems. Other studies on birth defects with beclomethasone, budesonide, de
amethasone, flunisolide, XX, mometasone or triamcinolone have not been done in humans.
In animal studies, corticosteroids taken by mouth or injection during pregnancy were shown to cause birth defe
cts. Also, too much use of corticosteroids during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, may cause other unwanted effects in the infant, such as slower growth and reduced adrenal gland func
tion.

Drug Interactions
Tell your health care professional if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription (over-the-counter [OTC]) medicines, such as:
- Ephedrine or
- Phenobarbital or
- Rifampin (e
.g., Rifadin)¡XEphedrine, phenobarbital, and rifampin may decrease the blood levels of nasal corticosteroids, such as dexamethasone, warranting an increase in corticosteroid dose

Proper Use of This Medicine
Take these drugs on a regular daily basis, exactly as prescribed. With Nasacort and Nasacort, you should begin to see improvement after a week, although it may take 2 weeks or more to achieve the grea
test benefit. Nasacort AQ should begin to produce results on the first day, but will take a week to yield maximum benefit.
If the drug irritates your throat, gargling and rinsing your mouth
with water after each dose can help to relieve the problem.
Do not spray Nasacort directly onto the bone that separates the nostrils. Avoid spraying either medication in your eyes.

Overdose
Acne; blurred vision; bone fractures; excess hair growth in females; fullness or rounding of the face, neck, and trunk; high blood pressure; impotence in males ; increased urination or thirst;
lack of menstrual periods; menstrual changes; muscle wasting and weakness

What is this Drug
Nasacort are metered-dose inhalers containing the anti-inflammatory steroid medication, triamcinolone acetonide; Nasacort AQ is a metered-dose pump spray. Nasacort is used as long-term therapy to cont
rol bronchial asthma attacks. Nasacort and Nasacort AQ are prescribed to relieve the symptoms of hay fever and other nasal allergies. Nasacort is also used in the treatment of nasal polyps (projecting
masses of tissue in the nose).
