How should this medicine be used?
Take these drugs on a regular daily basis, exactly as prescribed. With Nasacort and Nasacort, you should begin to see improvement after a week, although it may take 2 weeks or more to achieve the grea
test benefit. Nasacort AQ should begin to produce results on the first day, but will take a week to yield maximum benefit. If the drug irritates your throat, gargling and rinsing your mouth
with water after each dose can help to relieve the problem. Do not spray Nasacort directly onto the bone that separates the nostrils. Avoid spraying either medication in your eyes.

Why is this drug prescribed?
Nasal corticosteroids (kor-ti-ko-STER-oids) are cortisone-like medicines. They belong to the family of medicines called steroids. These medicines are sprayed or inhaled into the nose to help relieve t
he stuffy nose, irritation, and discomfort of hay fever, other allergies, and other nasal problems. These medicines are also used to prevent nasal polyps from growing back after they have been removed
by surgery.

Symptoms of overdose
Acne; blurred vision; bone fractures; excess hair growth in females; fullness or rounding of the face, neck, and trunk; high blood pressure; impotence in males ; increased urination or thirst;
lack of menstrual periods; menstrual changes; muscle wasting and weakness

Drug Interactions
Inhaled steroids such as Nasacort, Nasacort, and Nasacort AQ are not recommended for long-term use while you are taking prednisone (Deltasone).
