What special precautions should I follow?
Pregnancy¡XIn one human study, use of beclomethasone oral inhalation by pregnant women did not cause birth defects or other problems. Other studies on birth defects with beclomethasone, budesonide, de
amethasone, flunisolide, Nasonex, mometasone or triamcinolone have not been done in humans. In animal studies, Nasonex taken by mouth or injection during pregnancy were shown to cause birth defects
. Also, too much use of Nasonex during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, may cause other unwanted effects in the infant, such as slower growth and reduced adrenal gland function.

What is this Drug
A long-term treatment for allergies, Nasonex does not provide immediate relief. To be effective, it must be used regularly once a day. It starts working within 2 days after the first dose, but takes 1
to 2 weeks to yield its maximum benefits. If you suffer from hay fever, you should begin taking it 2 to 4 weeks before the start of pollen season.

Proper Use of This Medicine
Nasonex nasal inhalation controls the nasal symptoms of allergies but does not cure them. You should begin to feel an improvement in your nasal allergies within 1--2 days of the first dose of Nasonex
nasal inhalation. It may take 1--2 weeks until you feel the full benefit of Nasonex nasal inhalation. Continue to use Nasonex nasal inhalation even if you feel well. Before you use Nasonex n
asal inhalation the first time, read the written instructions that come with it. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to show you how to use it. Practice using the inhaler while he or she watches.
